While many states have a sales tax holiday only during the summer, Massachusetts offers a year-round benefit of no tax on clothing up to $175. So why was our reader charged tax on the jacket she purchased? That story is in Mouse Print* this week.
Uncle Sam is once again mailing out free COVID-19 test kits. Every household is entitled to four free kits. Note that some kits have expiration dates on them that have already expired or are about to expire. The government has extended those expiration dates so be sure to check this chart to see the new date.
Microsoft has put together a 15-question quiz to see if you are able to detect the real photographs from the ones that were created by artificial intelligence. Take the quiz, but we be warned, the fakes are virtually undetectable.

Last Full-Size Kmart to Close
The last large Kmart store in the continental U.S. is in Bridgehampton, New York and is set to close on October 20. MrConsumer can't count the hours he spent shopping at his Kmart, right across the street in Somerville, MA. Sure the stuff tended to be junky, but many good deals were to be found. Bye, bye, Kmart.
