10 Best/Worst States for Access to Medical Care
Shrinkflation's more devious cousin is skimpflation. That's when a product's "recipe" changes usually by substituting cheaper ingredients. Skimpflation is not limited to grocery products as we demonstrate in our Mouse Print* story this week.
CNBC evaluated an index of the cost of various goods and services, housing, energy, and insurance costs to come up with their list of states that were the cheapest to live in. The number one state in their analysis was West Virginia.
The folks at Speedtest.net -- Ookla -- compiled the results of millions of speed tests done across the country by average consumers along with other data about the quality of connections. With that they came up with their winners for the first half of 2024. T-Mobile swept the major categories of speed, consistency, and consumer sentiment. Their report also shows charts of state-by-state and city-by-city performance. Verizon came in second and AT&T third.
